Fran broady

Fran can’t remember a time when she didn’t play the violin and can’t imagine life without music. Growing up, she worked through all her classical grades and performed in orchestras and choirs wherever her life and work took her.

Then she discovered the London folk scene and started playing at sessions and for morris and ceilidh dancing and early music events.

She first crossed musical paths with Duncan and Bryan when she joined Shave the Monkey, playing at festivals, arts centres and folk clubs across the UK, Belgium, Holland and Denmark with the band.

Since moving back to her Norfolk roots in 2013, she has played and recorded original material with a number of singer songwriters including Philip Lewis-Jones’ Bark Prelude, as well as performing music from the Klezmer, French and UK folk traditions.

In 2017, she joined Judy Dyble’s Band of Perfect Strangers to play at Fairport’s 50th anniversary Cropredy Convention.
